Loretta Carbonelli is the Chief Compliance Officer at Ventum Financial Corp. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing the organization’s compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and cultivating integrity and accountability across all aspects of the business. She has over 30 years of experience in investment management, with a broad range of expertise in governance, interpreting complex regulatory requirements, policy and procedure development, registration requirements, risk management, and advising on the structure of new products. Carbonelli brings a collaborative leadership style and emphasizes that compliance should operate in partnership with all areas of the business.

Carbonelli began her career in financial services in 1987 as a licensed registered representative. Throughout her career, she has held various senior roles in operations and governance, including human resources, branch administration, and compliance.

Carbonelli holds several key accreditations and has served on the CIRO District Council for both the Ontario and Alberta regions, as well as the CIRO Registration Subcommittee, and champions proactive regulatory engagement.  

Carbonelli is passionate about community involvement, and has served as Chair for the Toronto Military Family Resource Center, leading fundraising initiatives for the organization. She also supports initiatives that encourage professional development for women in corporate Canada.
