Asad is Senior Vice President, Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at Ventum Financial, and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Committee. He has more than 25 years of experience across investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate development, with prior experience at leading Canadian financial institutions including Scotia Capital, National Bank Financial, and Deloitte Corporate Finance.  

As Head of Capital Markets, Asad is responsible for the leadership, performance, and strategic direction of Ventum’s capital markets platform. He is focused on advancing the division’s long-term growth strategy, expanding key sector verticals, strengthening institutional and corporate relationships, attracting and developing top talent, and enhancing Ventum’s position as a leading independent capital markets platform in Canada. He is also an active dealmaker and trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, and Boards of Directors of public and private companies, advising on equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and complex strategic transactions.

Asad holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an HBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, a Diploma in Economics from the University of London, and is a CFA Charterholder. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights and is an active supporter of St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
